Having been a certified fitness instructor since 1993, Maile came to yoga in 2003 when her current fitness routine of cardio & strength training left her feeling unbalanced and with no relief to back pain from scoliosis. She tried yoga and found it brought not only a relief of her back pain but a sense of flexibility and strength never felt before. She was hooked. Studying under her mentor, Malachi Melvillle, she graduated from the Yoga Works teacher training program in 2009 and has been teaching ever since. An avid tennis player, Maile believes the mental and physical benefits of yoga are often overlooked by athletes. She has helped several Major League baseball players use yoga to rehabilitate from their injuries as well as improve their level of performance on the field through their newly developed sense of balance and agility.
